In an old mansion deep within the forest, Blackwood Boarding School promises to turn rebellious teens into straight-laced young adults. Desperate for a fix to her daughter’s dissident behaviour, Kit Gordy’s mother sees no other option. Kit (AnnaSofia Robb) is placed in a class with four other equally reluctant teens, miles from any outsiders and no contact with the outside world. There is something odd about the enigmatic Madame Duret (Uma Thurman) who’s unconventional methods unsettle her pupils. Strange inexplicable events occur during the night, and the girl’s behaviour grows increasingly unnerving.
